MY CREDENTIALS |
Education & Training I hold two Ph.D. degrees - the first in communication was awarded by Stanford University, and the second in clinical psychology was awarded by the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, Palo Alto, California. I also did postdoctoral work in behavioral medicine with the Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford Heart Disease Prevention Program, and I have over 25 years experience in behavioral medicine. I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families on a variety of issues, including anger management, anxiety disorders (including panic disorder, OCD, social anxiety, phobias, PTSD, and generalized anxiety), adult attention deficit disorder, chronic pain, depression, eating disorders, infertility and childbearing issues, obesity, and relationship issues. I am skilled in both problem-focused and in-depth psychotherapy, and I am familiar and comfortable with the use of psychotropic medications for certain conditions. As a psychologist I cannot prescribe medication. However, I can refer you to a psychiatrist if an evaluation for medication if that seems appropriate. I am an integrative therapist, meaning that I integrate therapy approaches tailored to each client's needs. I am trained in the application of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), family systems thinking, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
